stuartHi, I'm Stuart, welcome to my website. Here are a few words about me and what I do...

I am a versatile illustrator with a wealth of professional experience, established since 1996, after gaining a First Class Honours degree in Scientific Illustration/Visual Communication Design at Middlesex University in London. My childhood and teens were spent living in the leafy Hertfordshire countryside, though now I live in the heart of the rugged Welsh Cambrian Mountains, surrounded by magnificent panoramic views, big skies and an abundance of wildlife, always there to surprise and inspire.

With an inherent love and knowledge of nature and wildlife, natural history has especially featured in much of my illustration work, though I also have an avid interest and knowledge in many other fields, as is reflected across the work in my portfolio. I mainly create illustrations in the mediums of digital painting and watercolour & gouache, as well as black ink and pencil for detailed line work and visuals. You can find my work in numerous illustrated books, encyclopaedias, magazines, advertising and packaging, as well as artworks for television, the most recent of which was producing all the illustrations for the recently televised BBC natural history series, Origins of Us, narrated by Dr Alice Roberts.

I am always looking to the future and interested in producing artworks in new fields, so if you need illustrative help, please email me by clicking on the envelope... You're just one click away!...

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy browsing though my portfolio
